Hello, my name is Jessica. I hold a Bachelor's Degree from Le Moyne College in Mathematics with a concentration in Actuarial Science. I am currently working on my Masters Degree in Accounting in Utica. I have experience tutoring all types of math subject levels. My tutoring experiences began in 1997 while I was a student at Clinton Community College in Plattsburgh, NY. The head of the Math department, Mr. Mike Hellinger, recognized my aptitude for understanding both algebra and calculus at an early stage in my education and asked if I would be willing to tutor these two subjects in the Academic Assistance Center located right on the college campus. My teaching style is a combination of techniques I found successful during my educational studies. First, I believe the teacher has to be passionate and have a true love for what he or she is doing; this is passion, or lack thereof, is evident when interacting with a student. Second, patience is of upmost importance. In my experience, nothing inhibits learning as much as a rushed or pressured feeling when one is trying to learn. Finally, it is critical to find a way for the student to relate to the material in a way they understand.
