I have a strong math and science background. In college, I started out in chemical engineering (2 1/2 yrs.) and then switched to education. My bachelor’s degree is a dual degree in Elementary Education and Special Education. Initially, I taught first grade in a parochial school. My next job was teaching math at the high school level to students with various learning disabilities. Next, I taught individualized mathematics at a science and technology high school. I also had experience team teaching in this environment. Presently, I am a high school resource teacher for 10th grade. I have previously taught resource at the 8th and 9th grade levels as well. I have always wanted students to really know the material being covered. This has meant keeping their interest through jovial yet concentrated lesson planning. I have always strived to make my students feel comfortable and to take on the responsibility for their own learning. Much too often Educators show students how to answer questions rather than helping the student learn how to handle new scenarios. A Little Bit About Me...

While attending a small private university in upstate New York, I pursued a degree in Chemistry with a minor in English. I excel in all parts of the scientific discipline, receiving perfect marks in Chemistry, Physics, and Biology. In addition to direct courses in Algebra and Calculus, I used mathematics on a daily basis in the upper level Chemistry courses.
