Taught classes in GED in workplace to help co-workers qualify for promations; also taght GED at Skinner M.S as part of field work for teachers classes in which I received an "A"; was an AVID (advancement via individual determination) in both middle school and Hinckley H. S. for four years. AVID helps students learn to think for themselves rather than parroting answers to standardized tests -- taught all four major subjects (math, science, english, and social studies) but did especially well in english and social studies; when I was younger gave french horn lessons. My comments on tutoring Sociology : I have a BA Degree in Sociology with an education concentration. I provide an understanding of sociology concepts and practices.

Denver Summer Scholars - Lead computer tutor - Taught 3 classes a day with 15 students in each class. I used computer software to tutor students in math and language arts. My students were ESL at Risk students. Tree of Knowledge - I tutored 15 students during the 2011 to 2012 school year in Language Arts and Math. My students increase their pre tutoring scores by a minimum of 25%. My students included at risk and special ed students in first to fifth grade. This was one on one tutoring. I was able to get to know each student and design the teaching method and material to suit each student's need. I designed separate programs for each student.
