I love helping and teaching children. I have given riding lessons to all ages of children for years, realizing there is no better feeling than helping children accomplish their goals. I would love to help children in any way I can to meet their academic goals, I know what it is like to have to study hard for what you want to accomplish. Being 25 I feel, and just being a graduate myself, I think can be a way to relate to the children and what they are trying to achieve. I would love to gain this type of experience and would really enjoy this type of work. I also have had a lot of psychology classes and feel that I am good at connecting with people and understanding the problems they are trying to get through.

If students lack motivation or direction, it’s often because they are trying to perform an advanced task without basic skills. For example, many students know about the “five-paragraph essay” format, but don’t know how to organize the individual sentences. The first part of my philosophy focuses on providing students with these basic skills, as doing so prepares and makes them eager to face their assignments. The second part of my philosophy involves research. When students don’t know something, I’ve found that they will be quick to give up without considering the resources available.
