I take the necessary time to learn the behavior and learning ability of the child in order to customize a teaching style that will be most beneficial. I believe that the most effective type of relationship between a teacher and a student is friendship to reduce any anxieties that may otherwise hinder the child’s progress. A Little Bit About Me...

For a period of five years, I offered tutoring services to students at the University of Chapel Hill, Duke University, and North Carolina State University. My ability comes from experience...I was not entirely prepared for college when I started, and had to work much harder to successfully complete my degrees. I believe that this has given me a great insight into what students really need, especially as schools continue to do a less than perfect job of preparing students for the future.
The goal of my approach is to enable students to have a level of ownership in learning concepts and ideas. Merely teaching the idea is not enough, and that "Oh, I see" moment must occur to embed the idea for long-term growth. I enjoy relating the ideas and facts to real world examples that almost anyone can grasp.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have earned a bachelor degree (BS) in Chemical Engineering, and an associated in Biology. I was also a Chemistry major at Kennesaw State University before I transfered to Georgia Tech. My love of science and math which has enabled me to gain an understanding in many areas, but to also share this love of math and science with the students I tutored. In addition, I have learned extensive grammatical skills due to writing research papers and laboratory reports, along with essays in many various areas of study.
