A Little Bit About Me...

I am patient but firm. In order to be a success in the business world, one must be able to write and speak the English language correctly. If the student knows English, everything else in general business can be taught. Thus, in a tutoring environment, I try to make learning fun and make a game out of speaking and writing proper English. I believe that every child can learn even those that are handicapped. My mother was a specialist in teaching trainable children and got them jobs after graduation. Being around children with IQ's around 60 gave me special insight and understanding.

I went to Ohio State in Art, then graduated at Ohio U. I taught 14 years in Florida and Ohio , grades 1 through 12; all subjects. I taught using primarily Art and music. I started doing tutoring at the beginning of this year. I was tutoring a student in Chemistry and Math at the college level for about 2 months. I interviewed the student and found her needs and the curriculum she was taught in school. Based on that information, I tutored the student by explaining the material and ensuring it was understood. I also made sure the homework was done properly. I provided guidance in the specific subjects. Several years ago, I also tutored a grammar student in elementary math.
