I am currently a student at the university of Tennessee at Chattanooga, where I am majoring in early childhood education with a minor in speech pathology. I am working full time as the head aftercare teacher at hickory valley Christian school where I work with elementary school children. Being envolved as a sub-teacher has allowed me to work with children of differnt ages to understand what they are learning,and the differnt styles that may help with that age group.

When teaching, I want to instill in each child a love for learning. I do this, first of all, by setting the mood of the classroom - meaning, I make it conducive for learning with an attitude of happiness and respect for each child; believing that I can find attributes that I like about each child, and making the atmosphere pleasant, cozy, and fun. I have earned a bachelors degree in Chemistry from East Tennessee State University. I have more than 100 hours of volunteer experience in all fields of area due to being in organizations like Alpha Phi Omega, Phi Sigma Pi and President's Pride throughout my college career.
