First, I am a life long learner and love reading. I have a masters in Library Science and have worked for the past 2 years as a reference librarian where I frequently answered questions, worked with patrons one on one, taught ACT prep and computer classes. Previous to working at the public library, I volunteered tutoring elementary and high school students in grammar, composition, and mathematics. I enjoy helping people find and understand information. When teaching, I like to encourage my students to find their own path and reasoning to the answer. I encourage supervised and structured trial and error where the student tries different methods to finding the answer. This nurtures the excitement of discovery and the joy of learning something new.
