Go over the basics and then assisted practice to see short comings in understanding. Address the shortcomings and make sure the student understands thorough further practice. Every student is different, I will try and work with each student to see what style works best. I will also be open to feedback and address any specific issues that go along with learning the particular subject. I can think of little else that is more rewarding that teaching. It is so wonderful to share knowledge and help another realize how powerful the willingness to learn can be - it can take you anywhere.
