American History is one of my top subjects! I have taught Social Studies and History at the Junior High as well as Career College level.

Student-centered, Co-intentional. I believe that the key to learning is the motivation to want to learn. Once that has been accomplished, just stand back and guide the student to what they want next.
I have worked in schools in Kentucky and Ohio. I have been a tutor, intervention aide, long term substitute teacher, and regular classroom teacher. I communicate freely with my students, and am always ranked among the most well-liked and effective instructors by my students. My best skill is helping students find what is in it for them to learn and use the material. I currently teach (adjunct) at a career College where I teach English, history, strategies for success, and communications classes.

I graduated from Morehead State University with a BS in Chemistry and a Geology minor in 1996. I used this degree to obtain work in my field, and outside of my field for the past 14 years. I have strong, hands-on experience with Chemistry principles and have experienced them on a daily basis for over 5 years. I also have experience working in a customer support role and have been responsible for helping people of all ages and backgrounds solve problems in a quick, and effective manor. In all, I feel I have learned how to help all different types of people solve problems in an effective and respectful way.

I love teaching children and helping them to achieve their academic goals. I am very organized and detail oriented and use those skills to organize and priortize the student's needs and specific way to achieve them. I help them set their own goals. I use a variety of curriculum and begin at the level they are at presently. I use a variety of visual aids and materials.
