I hold the personal belief that, “All children are special and learn differently. Each possesses the right and the ability to learn. It is my responsibility to ensure that all children receive the knowledge and tools necessary to reach their full potential.” I think learning needs to be presented in different ways for children to learn because I do not think there is one “right” way to learn. Since not all people learn the same, I try to make sure that I can think of fun, creative, and unique methods for presenting materials. I have been a preschool teacher for approximately 2 years in Head Start programs. I have substitute taught in the last year. I also was a early childhood special education paraprofessional for 1 year. I have also been a lead teacher in a learning center.
I prefer to assertive in discipline but try to understand where children are coming from. I want children to learn above all else. I think that you need to be understanding but stern. I think that you need to be compassionate yet thorough.
