A Little Bit About Me...

I believe that everyone is teachable, if the student has the desire and the teacher has the commitment. I tend to be a patient teacher, with high standards. I actively question the student, which allows me to challenge the student in my presence, where I am able to guide him/her. While I have predominantly tutored college students, I have also taught adults and children. My sister-in-law is probably my biggest supporter, since she has watched me teach my nephews (now 9 and 10) an array of subjects over the years. After receiving my Bachelors degree with honors, began working in the accounting field and towards my masters degree in taxation. I have worked well with many individuals in a variety of industries and most enjoyed the training/supervision of a young staff at Genetti's. What tools I use in the classroom really depends on the student's learning style and course material. Some individuals learn by performing tasks, while others learn by reading or hearing the material to be learned. I use a variety of methods depending on the course such as: PowerPoint, Internet, Lectures, Whiteboard, Student Presentations, and individuals within the community to discuss their current views on health care and their roles in Medical Billing/Coding.
