A Little Bit About Me...

My style is based on the student's manner of learning and it is based on repetition of various materials. First, I allow the student to tell me what she or he knows about the subject. From that I can see what he or she has maintained and what style of learning fits the student best. I also like to have students complete problems in a very close manner to the manner that I used to solve similar problems. After I finish one problem, I like her or him to repeat solving the problem and explain why various steps have been taken to solve the problem. This works well for mathematics and it also can works well for writing and for understanding what was read.

Literature is one of my top subjects!

I have over 19 years experiences teaching in Drexel University's First Year Writing Program. My experience includes teaching online, face-to-face, and hybrid classes ( partially face-to-face and partially online). For the past 5 years I have also taught ESL sections of First Year Writing. In addition I ma a tutor for the University Writing Center, a position I've also held for 10 years.
My teaching philosophy is simple, help students write to the best of their ability, give them the tools to engage in critical thinking, and challenge them to write about what they are interested in. Writing is clearly a skill that crosses majors, and is a critical skill in the workplace.
