A Little Bit About Me...

I fit my teaching style to the student's learning style. I try to follow the model of my physics advisor, who has an excellent ability to figure out how a student learns best, then adapt his teaching and explanations accordingly. Students are often closer to understanding than they realize, and a different presentation can make a huge difference. I work to improve weak areas and capitalize on strengths for each student. I keep things relaxed, but focused; and I make sure to work through the material with my students, moving on when they are ready. Learning should be fun. I strive to make a point of this when ever I teach. I do this in both lectures and tests. I find a little humor takes the edge off test taking and allows the student to concentrate on the subject matter without being nervous.

Throughout my school experience, I have been a top performer. I attended a "gifted" program in elementary school. I was the Valedictorian at Hagerstown Junior/Senior High School in Hagerstown, Indiana. I received a full-tuition scholarship to the University of Evansville in Evansville, Indiana.
