A Little Bit About Me...

I love to teach. I have experience with 5-50 years old and, if pressed, could not name a favorite group. I believe that everyone can learn; some of us just process information in different ways. As a tutor it is my job to discover how a student processes information and adapt my lesson to accommodate them. Learning can be both fun and serious, as long as it is productive.
As part of my lifelong love of learning and teaching, I began tutoring when I was just fourteen years old. While in high school, I usually tutored math (mostly algebra, geometry, and trigonometry) and general science. Once I moved to college, I began to work with middle school as well as high school students again in mostly math and science. I prefer to work with small groups of students or individuals as it is easier to meet each student's needs. I am very concise and methodical, but am also sensitive enough to pace myself according to the student's needs. Of course, experience is the best teacher, so I usually review the points that the student has questions on, provide an example of the principles in action, and then help the student work through some problems until he or she understands satisfactorily.
