MCAT is one of my top subjects! I only tutor MCAT students because I enjoy this content the most. It requires a higher level of involvement, but the rewards of an increased score are much greater. I scored in the 93rd percentile when testing, myself.

Truth: You're likely already smart enough to do well. We both know you didn't get here with just your looks. But having someone there to coach you through the preparation phase is invaluable. A tutor like me will help you get the score that accurately reflects your abilities. You're smart. And I can help you get the score your beautiful brain deserves. You could follow an at-home study course. There would be no one to motivate you or hold you accountable. You would likely be completely blindsided on Test Day, missing valuable points. My comments on tutoring MCAT : I took the MCAT in 2010 and received a score of 30R (11 Verbal Reasoning, 11 Physical Sciences, and 8 Biological Sciences). I can assist students with both subject-specific preparation and test-taking approaches.

I try to work with students to find connections between different aspects of the material that we're working on as well as to find connections to other subjects. I find that by relating specific topics to broader perspectives on a subject as well as related subjects, the student can gain a greater appreciation for the coherence and importance of a particular subject area.
I have experience working with students who are advanced and seeking supplementary tutoring as well as with students who are having difficulty with a subject. I have tutored mathematics as well as chemistry, biology, physics, and other subjects. I have tutored students from a range of ages and I worked with my first student over four years ago while I was in college.

I graduated with a Biopsychology degree or otherwise known as Behavioral Neuroscience. This degree enabled me to study organic and inorganic chemistry, biology (immunology, biochemistry etc.), math (statistics, calculus) and 1 year of physics. My favorite class, however, was a psychology class called learning and behavior. That class has honed my teaching skills and I enjoyed using those skills while tutoring adolescents in a wide variety of subjects, high school teenagers prep for the ACT exam, working as a teaching assistant for organic chemistry and tutoring an autistic child.
My teaching style varies with skill level. Some children need reinforcement schedules while others just need help puting their foot in the right direction. I have always been interested in science and using that science to benefit humanity. In college I pursued a bachelor degree in Biology and was president of molecular/mircobiology club and was an anatomy, organic chemistry, and physics tutor. As an undergraduate I was able to be involved in forensic DNA research. After graduating I entered medical school where I have pursued research interests in pediatric infectious diseases, and middle ear dysfunction. In medical school I tutored students in pathology and pharmacology. My passions are teaching and patient care.
I have a teaching style that is very adaptive to any individual. I am very patient and understanding that multiple approachs to grasp a subject may need to happen. I try to base all knowledge around concepts instead of rogue memorizing. I prefer 1:1 tutoring but have experience lecturing to large audiences.
