Ex-classroom school teacher with 10 years plus experience!

My teaching style is one that always tries to relate to the child and to have fun. Does the child enjoy video games, dinosaurs, soccer, dance, or a particular cartoon character? When I discover what it is the child enjoys, I bring that element into the subject we are learning about. If the child likes soccer and struggles in reading, I research about famous soccer players and find books on them. Perhaps, at the end of a teaching session, we go outside and kick the soccer ball for 5 minutes as a source of inspiration to get work completed. Bringing in other ways of learning through play and games is also something I enjoy. Playing simple math games or reading games is a easy way to teach a child, without them realizing they are learning.

Texas Womans University Elementary Education 2008 M.A. University of Phoenix Curriculum and Instruction 1994 Teaching Certificate State of Texas (Lifetime) I have been teaching for the last 19 years. I have taught everything from 1st to 8th grade. My favorite subject to teach is Math. My students (85%-90%) would usually always perform end of the year State Test and on any test that showed grade equivalency they usually performed one to two years ahead of their grade.
