A Little Bit About Me...

As a counselor for two summers at Camp Harlow (eugene, OR), I had my hands full playing, mentoring, and getting know up to twelve kids every week from the ages of 5-14. During this time, effective communication skills were paramount to success along with patience and listening. I work hard to communicate clearly and simply on an appropriate level. This has afforded me many opportunities to successfully mentor others. I believe learning is best done through teaching and dynamic communication. Overall, I would like to reinforce that my teaching style emphasizes efficient communication through the proper definition of concepts and the clear and appropriate use of language.

I supervised undergraduates in organic chemistry labs, graded exams, led recitation sections and graded homework for both organic and general chemistry lecture courses. I developed and presented a chemistry class for HP technicians, and was the HP Education Liaison for the University of Oregon. As an undergraduate at the University of Montana – Billings I was a teaching assistant in the general and organic chemistry labs and tutored both chemistry and physics at the college level. My academic experience in both Chemical Engineering (BS) and Biomedical Engineering (MS) have given me strong background in math and sciences. As an undergraduate, I was fortunate to be part of a Chemical Engineering mentor program where I tutored underclassmen in the fundamentals of engineering. During my graduate stay, I was TA for undergrads and lead recitation sessions to help students prepare for subject matter. I also have industry experience in semiconductor field which has allowed me to work in teams of highly educated and experienced individuals and given me opportunity to be strong communicator and contributor.
