A Little Bit About Me...

As someone who loves history I discovered my passion for helping others understand history. Because of this love I pursued a degree in museum studies. I have over 6 years experience in volunteering my time at history museums in order to educate today's youth about the past.
My teaching style is to draw connections to what the students are trying to learn with what is happening today that they might be interested. I very much enjoy working with children. I enjoy that as i teach them they are teaching me as well. Each individual child learns in their own different way not like that of any other. In my experience with special needs my most knowledge came from just watching their reaction to the curriculum. Each subject had different reactions the facial expression and their attention span to each subject. These very tools gave me the fuel to fire their education.

I have currently completed 161 credits at Fredonia State. I am 18 credits away from being a certified teacher k-8 with a concentration is History. I have complete EDU 250 Intro to exceptional learner where I tutored a 2nd grader in reading. In this I had to create lesson plans and in the end the student improved from 5 words per minute to 25 words a minute, I received and A in the class. I also work at a before and after school program in Fredonia where I am always helping students in grades k-6 with homework.
