I taught Constitutional Law and American Politics at Marquette University, and tax law at the University of Wisconsin Law School and at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. I have also taught at IRS and KPMG programs, as well as at numerous seminars for state and local bar associations, voluntary legal associations, and the UW-Extension. As a student I enjoyed most the teachers who facilitated learning. Teachers who lead students on a road of discovery as they learned, who taught me how to think and not what to think. I model my teaching after the same style I enjoyed as a student. Helping a student discover for themselves the material not only educates them but fosters a passion for the subject at hand. Rote memory has it's place and is essential, but when a student becomes passionate about a subject, then the door is open for them to excel at it.
