A Little Bit About Me...

I recently graduated from the University of Wisconsin River Falls with a BS in Marketing Communications. My minor area of study while at River Falls was Psychology, and over the course of my college career, my interest in the topic has developed into a career goal. I plan to return to UW River Falls this Fall to earn a Mater's degree in School Psychology. For the past six years I have taught and coached Swimming and Diving lessons to children ages 4-16. A Little Bit About Me...

During the last three years, I have been employed full time teaching in the areas of Human anatomy and physiology, Microbiology, and Biology for a technical college in Wisconsin. A Little Bit About Me...

I find it thoroughly enjoyable to work with children. My time teaching in Peru has definitely confirmed that for me! I am patient, responsible, and easy going. I think that knowledge can be gained in many ways, and it doesn't have to just be from a book or someone lecturing to you. As a tutor, I primarily held 1 on 1 appointments several days a week. I primarily tutored in all levels of chemistry from general to biochem and I also tutored in accounting due to the introductory course that I had. My work as a supplemental instructor was by far the most rewarding. My job was to attend the Nursing Chemistry lectures and to take notes and create my own worksheets based on the material. I then conducted 2 review sessions per week to help the students master the material.
I prefer an interactive teaching style where the student determines how much they get out of it. I generally will not give a student an answer but will help them along until they can answer the question for themselves, thus making them more independent learners.
