A Little Bit About Me...

I have a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in accounting. I have very strong math skills, especially in Algebra, which is what my daughter is learning now. I excelled in grammar, art, health, and science as well. I was a teacher at a private school for a year after college before I started a family and began home schooling. My daughter is now in the 8th grade and tests at the college level in reading and high school levels at most other subjects.
I have a daughter in the 8th grade and a son in the 6th. I have home schooled them the past 9 years. They have very different learning styles which has helped me to learn to teach in different ways to accommodate their needs. I am patient and easy going and I love helping kids.

I have a bachelors and masters degree in music. I majored in vocal performance but am also a proficient pianist and have taught music theory and written a book of sight singing exercises for young singers. I taught voice and piano at several music schools in the Chicago area for more than 20 years. I believe each student possesses a unique talent and learning style. As a teacher may goal is to have an atmosphere of open communication and respect.
I truly enjoy teaching and unlocking the fun and enjoyment of music. I am a patient and easy going teacher with many years experience. I believe that no two students have exactly the same learning style so my approach is always to develop a rapor with my students to gain insight into their particular learning styles.
