I have earned two degrees. At Georgia Southern University I recieved a B.S. in Nutrition/Food Sciences. While in Statesboro, ga completing my studies I served as an after school tutor for elementary students in the Bulluch County after school program. I recently graduated from Sanford Brown Institute in Atlanta, GA where I earned a degree in Diagnostic Ultrasound Technology. I have always been very enthusiastic about learning and always find myself helping others to discover a deeper understanding of a subject. During my time tutoring math, I discovered that there is a necessary balance to allow the student time to process the material without allowing them to get frustrated and giving up. When teaching in a classrom environment I prefer to divide the class time between lecture and practice. When tutoring I use a sumwhat different approach. I first will have the student show me how they think they are supposed to approach the problem. I will then work through the problem & let them see where their approach is right & where they need to change. Using this method in a positve manner has proven very successful in the past. While working as a Designer at Boeing Aerospace I taught freshman level technical courses at Butler County Community College in El Dorado, Kansas. I taught there from 1993 thru 1999.
