My comments on tutoring ACT : I took prep classes for this test, but did the majority of studying alone. I took the test twice. The first I went in almost cold and got a 31, the second time with more studying I got a 34. 34 on Writing, 35 on Math, 36 on Reading, 32 on Science and a 9 on the Essay. From all of my preparation I know how to break down the test and explain the thinking behind scoring well.

Teaching new concepts, practice applying the new material, review, and more practice of the material to solidify the concepts.
I have helped my classmates and have had one official student as of this summer. However, I have learned how to explain concepts so that students dont just memorize, they will gain a thought process and applicable knowledge that will enable them to solve even the most complex problems. Having this mentality of preparation and success will being them to reach their goals.

A Little Bit About Me...

I teach to the individual, searching out the students learning style and model my teaching efforts based on my assessment. I have spent my career working with those that have had the greatest difficulty learning. I have also tutored and taught those who excel, and those in between. I have been exceptionally successful on all levels.
I started my career as a 5th grade teacher and became very interested in Special Ed. In 1973 I joined the West Park Union Free School a newly legislated Special Ed. school as a teacher/ administrator. I moved to Educational administration in 1986. I returned to the classroom in 1990.
