My students usually respond very well to my standard explanation of the procedure for solving algebra equations, as well as other math concepts, such as logarithms, trigonometry, and derivatives. On occasions when my students do not quite understand my standard explanations, I will explain the concept in a different way until the student understands. While completing my undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering at University of Idaho, I was often called upon to tutor people within the building where I lived during college. I also was employed by the University to grade papers and offer assistance to underclassmen in the Chemical Engineering department. From this experience, I have gained both the knowledge in math and science and the understanding of how to use different approaches with different people to deliver the lesson.
