I attended Northern Arizona University, whereupon I fell in love with sociology. I have a firm grasp of basic and advanced sociological concepts, specializing in historical analysis and research methods. After school, I spent my time working temporary jobs, and found one that I thoroughly enjoyed. At Wyko I aquired a set of technical skills that allowed me to work on some of the most advanced instruments of the day. So far as my teaching is concerned, I have been teaching for a number of years as a full-time instructor for elementary students. Each child is different. A good teacher helps each student meet their expectations while keeping the child interested in the subject matter. Each day my goal is the same, to get the most out of my students, and this can only be done when they are attentive and motivated. The best teachers I've had, and the one's I've gotten the most out of working with, have all had one thing in common; they cared about what they taught and even more so about those whom they were teaching. As a student I studied languages, earning a degree in English and an extensive minor in French. During my time in college I spent innumerable hours tutoring both. I have been a teacher for 28 years. I am certified to teach elementary education, the learning disabled, and the deaf and hard of hearing. In addition, I possess intermediate level sign language skills. I have earned a BS in education and a MS in Education, both from Temple University. I work especially well with elementary school students in the areas of reading, language arts and math. I'm really happy that I chose teaching as my life-long profession. I've been lucky enough to have taught a variety of subjects, from math, reading and computer skills, to minimal impact camping techniques, daily living skills and sign language classes.
