I have been playing the alto saxophone since 6th grade, I am now a freshman at UWEC, majoring in Music Performance. I have also spent time playing soprano, tenor, and bari sax, and clarinet and flute. I have taught students before, middle school and high school students. I can teach both classical and jazz saxophone, and would be comfortable teaching soprano, alto, tenor, or bari sax.

I was in a program called "Study Buddies" all four years at high school. I would devote a couple afternoons a week tutoring middle school students (and eventually high school students). During this time I would help them study for tests, complete assigned work, or help clarify any material that the student didn't understand. Also, I helped these students develop their writing and grammar skills. Starting my junior and senior year of high school, I began "one on one" tutoring with selected individuals. Study buddies was a program where several students would show up and the helpers would assist accordingly, but when I began tutoring I specifically met with them at assigned times. I began teaching private piano and oboe lessons around 1970 and continued it as time permitted until the present. It is enjoyable and rewarding to see someone work hard and feel with them the joy of their success. I have played all the instruments to varying degrees to be able to teach them. When I began substitute teaching in the 1990s I was able to teach almost every subject on every level. My strengths are reading, mathematics (including algebra and geometry), English, grammar, Spanish, and of course music. I have worked with and accompanied soloists and ensembles for recitals and contests, played in several orchestras, and been a librarian. I have also taught Spanish. In the last few years I have cared for the elderly and disabled.
