A Little Bit About Me...

I hold a Bachelor and a Master of Science degree in Science Education. I was certified in the State of Louisiana to teach Chemistry, Biology, General Science, and Computer Literacy. I taught high school Chemistry, Physics, Computer Literacy, and Study Skills. I have taught Biology Lab courses and Computer Information Systems courses at the college level, and have substantial experience teaching algebra to students preparing for the GED exam.
The most important element of teaching is to realize one is teaching a person. In a tutoring situation, it is especially important to discover exactly how to present material to the student. As a teacher, I seek to understand the student and then present the material using terms and examples the student can understand. Finally, I literally believe the only “stupid question” is one the learner doesn’t ask.

I believe in shared responsibility toward the common goal in a teaching-learning process. An effective teacher able to manage appropriate resources for students to conduct independent studies and respond to students’ learning needs. Students are also responsible for being prepared for class; participating in class and taking the opportunities available for learning.
I have had more than five years of experience working as a teaching and research assistant at three different universities including considerable undergraduate teaching experience in general education and principles courses. I have a strong experience in curriculum development, teaching package preparation, and supervising senior students’ projects.
