I started tutoring people because it seemed like a great way to meet different people, but I continued because I like helping people learn and discover new things. Everyone is different and therefore my teaching style various by student but typically the way I relate the information to everyday events or make abstract ideas concrete are the most effective. I have recently graduated from the University of Delaware and intend to pursue a Ph.D. in chemistry within the next few years. My major was in Chemistry with a minor in Biochemistry; I also focused on Theatre, Japanese, French, English, and Biology. I spent two semesters as a Teaching Assistant for General Chemistry and held personal office hours for tutoring regularly. I have worked at a learning center teaching students of all ages. In addition, I tutored various subjects in high school including ESL. I strive to develop each student's interest in the subject at hand. I have a number of useful skills and abilities that I bring to a classroom. I have a very broad set of educational areas in which I am comfortable. I have a B.S. in Biology, a B.A. in History, and a minor in Political Science, as well as a Masters in teaching.
