Love Kids, Love Writing.

In high school, I was on our school's speech team, I competed at the varsity level all throughout high school. I placed at every competetion, without fail. I placed in advanced English classes in high school, and tested in to the second level of English classes at Western Illinois University my freshman year. I have won state wide writing competetions, and have a poem published in a book of young writers. I went to school for Journalism and Communications, but am currently taking a year off. I have also taken and passed the Illinois basic skills test, and took 2 years of Special Education courses at Western Illinois University.
I believe each student is different; therefore, I change how I approach my teachings based upon the individual.

I like to get to know the students. People learn different ways and at different paces. I am able to adapt to their individual styles. I go slowly and explain things both verbally and visually if necessary.
When I was in high school, I was in a program where I tutored new students. They were students who were struggling with their grades, and I was able to help them. Also, in college I was a lab assistant. In this role, I set up the experiments as well as advise the students. I have twenty years of experience in a chemistry laboratory setting, and I feel that with my background I can teach students.
