A Little Bit About Me...

Building a good relationship with a child is key to helping them learn. When good relationships are developed children can then trust the teacher or tutor to help them in whatever way possible. This relationship builds a good emotional bank account and children will do hard things when asked. I know that all children can learn. As a former English major and editing minor at Brigham Young University I helped many students write and edit research and English papers. Along the way I also had the opportunity to edit an engineering Master's thesis. I have tutored in paper writing in various subjects as well as specifically tutoring in creative writing. I have worked with and on over thirty papers. I work very well one-on-one with students and am able to explain and teach what is necessary for better papers for the present and for the future. As a Mormon/LDS missionary I attended the LDS Mission Training Center and then spent 2 years in the Tokyo area. I studied and spoke Japanese daily. I taught a message in Japanese daily. Also I spoke to congregations in Japanese regularly. Following that time, 2004-2006, I studied at BYU (acclaimed for its language success). Here I have earned 20 credit hours of Japanese with an A- average. I am not fluent but I am very good.
