In addition to tutoring children and helping those I babysat with homework, I also taught horseback riding lessons to young children for three years. I recently obtained my BS in Marketing along with a minor in Animal Science from Iowa State University. Children all learn different, which is why I believe in using direct instruction in guiding their learning. Some children are more visual learns, while others may be more auditory. Varying the levels of teaching can allow for each child's needs to be met. I feel that I am able to adapt and change what I need to teach to meet those needs. I also believe scaffolding is a key component in guiding the way a child is able to learn. Along with scaffolding, providing the experiences and opportunities for a child is very important in helping them to reach their full potential.
