My comments on tutoring Poetry : Poetry study units hold their own place of significance in any English or language Arts course for all grade levels. In addition to teaching poetry, I write it from time to time.

Academic Learning to Standards and Beyond!

University of California-Berkeley graduate in individual major titled "Diplomacies to End the Division of Europe-1949-1990." My approach to teaching is to provide what is needed, and sometimes that is not limited to the explicit task at hand. As an English teacher/tutor, I have often found that, rather than merely showing students how to recognize a complete sentence and use correct punctuation and grammar, the more important thing is to prove to them that they can think, and that they are intelligent. To this end, I use gentle Socratic questioning to stimulate students, loosen them up, get them interested, and increase their comfort.
