Experienced Psychology Instructor and Researcher

I have received positive reviews for the clarity of my explanations of difficult material as well as my ability to offer real-life examples to illustrate the points under study. I encourage questions and exploration of the material beyond the assigned readings and work to associate the material with topics that are salient to the student.
I have taught for 3 years at the Johns Hopkins academic summer camp, "Center for Talented Youth", with groups of gifted students aged 12-16. I currently teach Psychology and Biopsychology at Norco College and have received excellent reviews from students and administration. I have experience as a researcher and work well with students at all levels.

Psychology is one of my top subjects!

I have been in the education department teaching and tutoring for over a decade now, therefore, I will work with each student and help them to the best of my ability. I enjoy seeing students improve their grades and letting me know they feel more confident with testing and homework. Children are the future pillars of society and the future of tomorrow so what they know should be reinforced today. The only way to contact me is at arr1aga@outlook.com or (424) 361-8497 please or I won't be able to read your messages and get back to you thank you!. Thank You!
Teaching Style varies depending your child’s learning style. Not a “one size” fits all idea. I adapt to them and that way can best see improvement.

I am a senior undergraduate student enrolled at Georgia Tech. My major is nuclear and radiological engineering, but i have experience in the fields of mechanical and civil engineering. I am most experienced in the subjects of mathematics, radiation physics, and electromagnetics including: algebra (I and II), trigonometry, differential equations, calculus 1 and 3, reactor physics, radiation protection/particle physics, thermodynamics, classical mechanics. I also have basic college level experience in the fields of chemistry and biology.
I encourage students to question problem solving methods in order to understand the fundamentals. After an explanation of the material I often follow up with several example problems to help students test their mastery of the subject. I do not emphasize memorizing equations, because students do not learn about the physical phenomena by memorization. ... read more

My comments on tutoring Psychology : undergraduate coursework for Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies in Elementary Education, coursework for Master of Education in School Administration, and doctoral coursework for PhD in Teaching Learning and Culture.

Hands on, inquiry, project-based, socratic method, with basic instructional practices tailored to student needs.
I live in Huntington Beach and I am currently completing my doctoral studies at the University of Texas at El Paso, in the area of Teaching, Learning, and Culture with an emphasis in Biliteracy and Social Justice issues, in the dissertation-writing phase. I hold Texas Standard Educator Certifications (Social Studies Composite, Life-Earth Science, Principal) and I am currently working on obtaining California teaching credentials. I am eager to be involved in education research, development, and service to improve the learning and success of all students.

If you don't like the results, I haven't done my job.

I won the state championship in the 100 meters and went to Adams State College in Alamosa CO. Broke a leg in track and received withdrawn F across the board. Left college and healed up. Went to the Army two years and reserve three years. Came back and picked up the quickest degree possiable. Moved to Hawwaii, three years. Became a ciritified dept of defense government contractor. Furnish and deliver contracts. Ended up moving back home to Albuquerque NM. I started working in the Indian Casinos for 13 years. I bought a house and retired. But now I'm tired of sitting around.
All I do is tend to my students needs. I'm personal. Like to get off track with my students and lead them back to the point.

Multicultural Psychology

My specific style of teaching falls more within the understanding that students are the sum of their history, family, and culture. There is an interaction between environment and how they conceptualize their world. This means that a student, for example, may look at attending college as a type of social function with the expressed purpose to satisfy the American dream of justice as opposed to poverty. Therein lies the implicit right for each student to attain a better way of life with greater financial independence, and with a purpose to rise above their present and past histories within the society they are a part of. For most students, college is a risky time and investment. As such, learning may likely involve differences in a student’s innate ability to commit to this task of academic education; namely, by finishing coursework towards the completion of their degree.
