I want to teach people to make them gaining the perfect knowledge while getting a perfect grade.I don't believe that anybody can learn material perfectly while they are having poor grade. in that sense my philosophy is different than most teachers. Because they used to tell me don't concentrate on your grade. But i believe by concentrating on getting a good grade will make you study and as a result you will perfectly learn the materials. But don't only study for an A but make your A giving you all the necessery things you need to know in a particular course.
Being an engineering student i earned vast knowledge in most of the math class required for engineering such as calc-1,calc-2,calc-3 and so on and have perfect grade in all the math class i have takken so far. i worked as a math tutor in Wichita state math lab where i used to tutor basic algebra, trigonometry, college algebra,pr ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

When teaching in a classrom environment I prefer to divide the class time between lecture and practice. When tutoring I use a sumwhat different approach. I first will have the student show me how they think they are supposed to approach the problem. I will then work through the problem & let them see where their approach is right & where they need to change. Using this method in a positve manner has proven very successful in the past.

I am thankful that I had some "hard" teachers and professors throughout my education. I have honestly grown to understand the importance of success and how nothing worth having comes easily. My approach to learning is straight forward. Who? What? When Where? How? Learning should be fun. However, I dono ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

I treat each student as an individual with individual goals and a unique learning style. My strengths lie in teaching fundamentals and being able to find impediments that get in the way of students’ abilities to learn. I am very patient and believe that everyone is able to learn. It is a matter of helping them to find the key to their own abilities. Along the way to an understanding of the material, my hope is each student becomes better prepared to handle the next difficult subject. A teacher’s hope is that her students will grow enough to make her obsolete.
I have earned both a bachelor degree and a master's degree in chemistry and was active in research for many years. Because of the many years I've spent in the research lab and writing papers for the chemical literature, I have gained a working knowledge of chemistry, mathematics and physics and teaching has been a part ... read more

From past experience I have learned that everyone has a specific way of learning and therefore you must accompany to that. I believe that patience is one of the most important qualities any tutor could have. I believe once students realize that everyone needs help in life, whether it be work or school, they will succeed and completely change their view on tutors and their future education.

In conclusion, I think that I can still be successful in teaching. I however, need to find what area that I can be most successful at. I think that with my non-traditional training and experience, that a similar position would give me the opportunity to be most successful. One thing that I have thought a great deal about these past few weeks, is that I am entering middle age and must be a success at something. In the past, I have found the most enjoyment and fulfillment working with special needs and incarcerated students. I hope that this time, t hat I can be more persistent, responsible, and realistic in my teaching and counseling career.
Since my previous experience has been working with fairly non-traditional students, I would like to find a similar position. I have applied for several positions that have opened up in public school ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

I am a very relaxed person and possess an easy going teaching style. I consider myself very approachable and encourage those I am tutoring to ask questions. I specialize in math and biology and am able to teach to students with varying aptitudes in these subjects. My math teaching style consists of working practice problems and teaching different ways of solving problems since each student is different, not the same method works for each student. In science I try to relate the subject in terms of everyday life. I am very extroverted and always want people to feel comfortable around me. I think it is very important to have the students be comfortable to avoid the stress and anxiety that can accompany learning a difficult subject.
During my four years obtaining a bachelor's degree in biology, I spent five semesters being a tutor in college algebra, statistics, pre-med biology, ... read more

Since I've been tutoring I've helped around 50 students individually and have developed different teaching styles to suit different students. I am aware that each person learns material in a different manner so the teaching style must be adapted to suit their individual needs. I am patient and friendly and more than capable of explaining material so that students are able to grasp it.
I have been tutoring my entire college career. All of my students received the grade that they were wanting and quite a few students even recommended me to their peers. I began tutoring one student a semester privately and was eventually recruited to tutor for a University program. While tutoring for the program I tutored 7 students one on one and ran a help room where I assisted many more. I have held informal teaching positions throughout my entire life. I have tutored everything from pre-algebra to Calculus to Piano. I'm currently employed as an after school tutor for middle school students, 6th grade to 8th, and independently tutor on Saturdays.
My style is relaxed and informal, but effective. School already provides enough structure, and with a relaxed mind, information can be processed more easily. 1 hour sessions multiple times a week is the best way for the information to sink in.

My first formal teaching position was as an undergraduate teaching assistant for the chemistry laboratory for non-chemistry majors. I received my BS from MIT in 1988 and went on to the University of Pittsburgh where I taught two of the six years I was there. I spent the rest of my time as a research assistant, but was often chosen to teach lab skills to others. At Wesleyan university I taught both undergraduate and graduate courses in chemistry for six years. Today I teach Basic Chemistry at a local Community College where individual tutoring remains a large part of my role as a teacher.
I strive to give my students both the fundamentals of the subject we are studying and a sense of esteem about their ability to achieve in that subject. I am successful at this because I am extremely patient, listen carefully to the student and let them contribute to the lesson, and have a thor ... read more

I have graduated from Wichita State with a BA of General Studies with a minor in chemistry, biology, physics, and sociology. I have helped high school students and college students in math and science courses.
I believe that you cannot do everything for the student. You have to find their learning style and then develop upon that to be able to open the door to learning of the subjects. There is no such thing as a good teacher with out a learning student.

I believe in working in an interactive environment with the students, keeping them involved and attentive. I feel that any subject can be learned when broken down into simple terms and personally related in a way that each student can understand. Although I can be around while a student is working through problems, I believe that teaching the methods and techniques to solve them are much more important than simply giving them the solutions.
I have graduated with a PhD in Chemical Engineering, which has given me a thorough understanding of advanced math and science, especially in chemistry. As a graduate student, I spent 9 semesters as a teaching assistant, where I have done things such as grading homework, quizzes and exams; teaching lectures and labs; and assisting students outside the classroom with any issues they have with the curriculum.
