'Retired' Biologist and Experienced Math Tutor

I have been teaching molecular biology to students and technicians in the laboratory for the past 12 years. In college I taught the human anatomy laboratory and a special research section to other undergraduates. I also tutored fellow students in College Algebra. I am currently tutoring students in math to prepare them for the GED.
I believe my job as a tutor is to find a way to help every student learn. I tell all my students if they don't understand the material, then I have to find another way to explain it. My tutoring strategies: -throughout my experiences, I realized that each person is different and require different teaching methods depending on the individual's preference -I prefer to use study skills that will benefit the individual; I have a variety of strategies depending on the subject as well. some individuals learn well using flashcards, while others prefer repetitive writing for memorization - I have had a couple of ADHD clients that prefer learning games and activities because it helps them stay active, but focused at the same time
