I have a passion and calling for working with children. From the time I was a child, I knew this is what I was meant to do. I believe children are the hope of our country, and that every child is capable of learning and expanding their knowledge. Knowledge is power, and if a child is given the proper encouragement and motivation they can and will succeed. I consider it an amazing privilege to be an educator and make a difference in the lives of my students.
Throughout my college years I have been employed by two different after school programs for a combined amount of 6 years tutoring/teaching in public school after school programs. (Grades K-6) I also spent 2 months teaching full time 3rd and 4th grade after college prior to unfortunately being laid off due to financial losses in the school. These were for the most part first generation Americans of Hispanic background. I also taught hands on science at a private school where the children were mostly from India or Asia.
