The goal of a good tutor should not just be to get their students finish their assignments, but to help the students understand the fundamentals of whatever discipline they are studying. This MUST be a significant sphere of focus because students need a good foundation to continue their academic progression. Giving students the belief that they can understand any academic concept as long as they stay focus keeps them engaged in the overall educational process. I completed my Bachelor of Science degree in Education with a mathematics major from Northern State University at Aberdeen, South Dakota. Being a continual learner, I also completed a broadfield science endorsement in Montana. Twelve years teaching experience has given me extensive opportunities teaching secondary mathematics and science to various cultures in Alaska, Montana, and South Dakota. As a culturally sensitive teacher, I have dealt with many learning styles in a patient manner. As a graduate instructor at Eastern Washington University at Cheney, Washington, I have also taught college level algebra.

I love to experience the thrill of success as a child begins to understand. I enjoy seeing their confusion transform into understanding. I believe children have brilliant minds that just need to be directed or focused in a way that incorporates their frame of reference.
