I have worked in Cedarville University's Writing Center as a tutor for two years. As a tutor, I conducted one-on-one sessions with college-age students to help them improve their writing and critical thinking skills. I also led several workshops on various skills required for college-level writing, such as "How to write a historical/biographical analysis" and "How to write a Marxist analysis." In addition, in training for my tutorship, I wrote a research paper on how to tutor various types of LD students, focusing on students with ADD/ADHD, dyslexia, and various Autism Spectrum Disorders. I've also worked as a leader at Cedarville University's annual writing camp for high school-age students. At the camp, I led group workshops for creative writing (both fiction and poetry) and led discussions on perfecting various writing skills.

A Little Bit About Me...

I graduated from Spring Arbor University with a BA in English-Writing. Throughout my classes, I have honed the skills of writing and communicating effectively, whether it be creatively or analytically, as well as expanded my knowledge of literature by taking classes such as Shakespeare and 20th Century British Literature. I am a very well-read person who has a leaning toward classic authors such as Bronte, Dumas,and Hemingway. I completed a senior honors thesis, which was 70 pages of analyzing the works of J.R.R. Tolkien and continuing my own creative project, a novel in the making. This honors thesis received the Marsha Daigle-Williamson Award in English in May 2011.
