A Little Bit About Me...

The summer after my 8th grade year was my first experience teaching. It was there that I facilitated the younger children's use of the computer facilities during a summer reading program. After that I tutored Math, Earth Science, Physics, and Philosophy to other undergrads at my college's Learning Center. More recently I have been a coach of my own children's baseball and football teams, and a volunteer tutoring math and science at a local private school.
I believe that people have different preferred learning styles. Some are visual learners, some audio, some physical, and some use pure intellect. I believe that all children learn differently. Some children need more of a hands on approach while others are more visual and still others learn just by memorizing facts. I believe in finding that way that each child learns best and helping them reach their potential. Both of my parents were teachers and I find myself sharing my knowledge with anyone who seems to need it.
