I completed my MA in Library and Information Science with the intent of working in reference assisting in research and scholarship. I also have two bachelor degrees; a BA in History and a BA in the Comparative Study of Religion. My education has enabled me to perfect skills in writing. I am also experienced with various citation styles. I have tutored students at various levels of learning and in a wide range of subjects. I volunteered at a center for women teaching basic reading and language skills and at a literacy center assisting adults working towards their GED and teaching students learning English as a second language. More About This Tutor...

I love working with kids of all ages. All children are unique and they all learn in different ways. I believe its the teachers responsibllity to understand how their students learn best and then help communicate the curriculum to them in a way that they will best uderstand and retain that knowledge.
I was homeschooled for the majority of my education which enabled me to assit my younger brothers and sisters in their studies. I taught a few Science classes including botony and a study of birds and have tutored in highschool math as well. I played volleyball, took 3 years of piano, and was a member of Chior as well. I worked as a teachers aide in a preschool for 2 years. I worked with children from the age of 6 weeks to 5 years. I plan on going to college for either business or diognostic sonography.

A Little Bit About Me...

As a student I enjoyed most the teachers who facilitated learning. Teachers who lead students on a road of discovery as they learned, who taught me how to think and not what to think. I model my teaching after the same style I enjoyed as a student. Helping a student discover for themselves the material not only educates them but fosters a passion for the subject at hand. Rote memory has it's place and is essential, but when a student becomes passionate about a subject, then the door is open for them to excel at it. I teach and tutor with the goal in mind to foster that passion, that drive and to be able to carry it throughout a life of learning.
