My comments on tutoring Spanish : I worked as a Spanish teacher at the Eden Valley Watkins High School for 7 years and built the program for the school. I work for a trading company and handle the exports to Mexico. I am a native speaker and grammar is a tool for me to teach. I also worked for the Meeker county court system as a translator.

I workd for the Eden Valley Watkins High School for more than 7 years. I build the Spanish program at the High School. I also worked as an ESL teacher for the elementary school at EV-W. I also had a couple of Community classes at Ridgewater College, MN and during the summer time as well for the EV-W children.
I like to use grammar and all the tools available, reading, listening skills, writting. I think grammar is very important because it helps the student (s) to reinforce ther English grammar. I believe once that you have grammar skills, any other language will be very easy to learn. I like to use as well the web to explore and I would be open to use the material the student (s) are already using at school or at work.

I was a teachers aid at the University of Minnesota for three years in the anatomy department. I was a the lead embalmer for the University and worked for the Anatomy bequest program. I am a graduate of St. John's University with a major in Spanish. Before attending college, I lived for a year in Venezuela, learning to perfect my spoken Spanish. While in college, I perfected my written Spanish through my degree and a semester living in Guatemala. When this does not work, I do not just tell the student what goes where or why this doesn't work, I give reasons and have them tell me these same reasons the next time we come across something that doesn't work.
