I like to use visual learning methods as well as memorization and recognition methods. Seeing a diagram is sometimes not enough. Actually trying to simulate a diagram/problem on your own after seeing it once promotes better understanding. As pertaining to math, depending on the level of the learner, I would do some problems together first and then let them work through it and find out where they run into problems. I always write out the problems along with the learner. I believe that everyone has the potential to learn all subjects as long as they have the motivation and determination to learn. When I tutor a child in reading, I will ask them questions about what they like to learn or how they like to have the teacher teach them and then base my tutoring off their answers. A Little Bit About Me...

When I was working as an ESL teacher in Brazil, each school used to have their own material. We used to participate in trainings to get familiar with the material and then start teaching. I developed my "own" style at teaching ESL in which I was very focused on the oral part. I tried to develop conversational classes to my students.
