My comments on tutoring HTML : I learned HTML when I was 14 years old. I was one of the first people in the state to host a site in 1994. I know everything there is to know about HTML.

I've been a web developer for over 20 years. I've seen the entire industry evolve in real-time with my own career path. I'm currently working full-time as a principle software engineer for a SaaS company in town. I've built many teams, architected and helped produce many enterprise level systems. I love teaching and am passionate about helping people discover their strengths and choose the right career paths.
There is a saying, "between the teacher and the taught becomes the teaching". The institutions of higher education are changing rapidly, and I am equally excited about the opportunity to learn from my students and the fresh new perspective they bring. I am very passionate about seeing someone suddenly gain understanding about a specific concept. I strive to understand first the learning style of any student and create new ways to connect to them via that learning style. I believe everything needs to be broken down into pieces. It makes tackling larger problems a lot easier. First, I start with definitions/terminology. This is a necessity to begin learning other concepts with any subject. Second, any rules, equations, procedures or the "how to" come into play. The learn how to use the definitions or formulas they learned. Third, examples are necessary. Thought provoking ones which allow the students to follow a clear path of logic to understanding important concepts.
I have a bachelor's degree in computer science. This helped me out also in math, since the requirements for the degree required many math classes, including 3 calculus classes.
