My approach to teaching is more of a "why" approach. It is more important for students to know why something is or works rather than just how. This approach works well for middle and high school students. It allows students not only to understand the ideas taught but to apply them to other areas as well. I also like to use visual aids as well as conversation. I have found that many of us vary widely in learning styles. The next procedure would involve passage reading and comprehension followed by implementation by putting "pen to paper". As with all cases of subject matter retention, repetition is the key to memory, closely accompanied by an understanding of the material and need for the application of the writing rules for student advancement. Since graduating from college, I have engaged locally in the areas of insurance and financial services, selling and servicing all available products to a growing customer base.
