Psychology is one of my top subjects!

Most of my experience is informal with tutoring family members/church members/friends in whatever areas they were struggling. Nearly everyone was pleased with what I was able to teach them and they showed improvement. In addition to tutoring, I have also mentored. In particular, at Emory University, I have for three years served as a mentor to incoming freshmen. I have helped them become acclimated to Emory and have also helped them create plans for courses and future plans. Therefore, I am confident in my tutoring and mentoring abilities.
I start out with discussing the area of weakness with the student and then try to investigate why this might be the area of weakness. I love working with people and helping them. I believe in constructive discussion, using aids of whatever sort to help make points, and to pick up on a person's true learning style. Some learn from reading, some from doing, some from trial and error. I earned my BS in Political Science and obtained a MBA in 2008. I am currently working on my Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy. I tutored students in an array of subjects from 1996-2000. I also tutored and mentored children at Burke Elementary School from 2005-2008. I currently serve as the Chairperson of the Youth Directors Board at my church, which I work with the youth in various areas.
