Teaching the way that my students learn best.

I believe in using real life situations, scenarios, and actively using technology. I like to use life lessons to enable my kids to realize that I am humble person, and I truly want the best for them academically as well as student. I incorporate peer discussions, peer tutoring, exit slips out the door, and class discussions to actively engage my students through the content and the process of learning. An Exceptional Teacher for Exceptional Students!

I am a former Special Education teacher from Bibb County. I taught in a interrelated classroom in both the elementary school level, and the middle school level. I taught reading, math, science, and social studies. I was a cooperative teacher, in which I worked with the general education teacher to assist her in helping our students with special needs. In the interrelated classroom, I worked with students who were not able to be mainstreamed in the general education classroom all day. I start out with discussing the area of weakness with the student and then try to investigate why this might be the area of weakness. Once this is discovered, I teach the student (through examples) until they understand the topic with which they need help. Then, I observe how they perform without my guidance and see if they have learned to complete problems solo.
