I Help Students Tackle Math With Confidence!

I have enjoyed the personal gratification of tutoring since high school. Since I was 15 years old, I have shared my knowledge and love of mathematics with people of all ages. I attended Spelman College and Georgia Institute of Technology, where I received my Bachelor of Science in both Mathematics and Mechanical Engineering. I also tutored my peers at these institutions. My goal is to help students understand the foundation and theory behind math concepts, so that they can tackle any math problem with ease and confidence. Confidence is key!

My comments on tutoring SAT - Verbal : Above average scoring for verbal/written skills.

I started out tutoring elementary students in basic math and English grammar while I attended college part time in the 1980's. I continued tutoring young students and adults in the 1990's, tutoring Basic Math, Basic and Intermediate Algebra, Basic Geometry, English Composition, Speech, Study Skills and the Sciences. In addition, tips were given to enhance test-taking skills in hard-to-Ace subjects like Economics. I have tutored for the Sickle Cell Organization in 2001, helping students catch up numerous missed assignments. I tutor when the opportunity presents itself. Many people have different teaching skills and techniques. I do not believe any technique to educate a child is better than any other technique. Each child learns differently.
