As a graduate of a private college, I have always been driven to perform at the top of my game. I have received two Bachelors degrees in both English literature and theater. Early in my collegiate career I gained a position as a teaching assistant (TA) and taught a required first year course for 3 out of my 4 years of college. In this position, I noticed that a lot of writing skills were missing from first year students that I felt that they should hav possessed and created and implemented a collegiate level writing and researching workshop that the college still uses. I believe that while students may forget specifics of what they are learning, they will never forget how teachers make them feel. I also belive that the best teachers are the ones that make themselves less needed the longer they teach specific studdents. A Little Bit About Me...

I love to bring history to live for students so I like to explain events in a story format. It is important for students to memorize facts, however, so I focus on memorization techniques and organization. Reading requires comprehension so I use a combination of techniques including reading out loud and repetitive reading. I am patient and creative, so I can usually find what works for that individual student.
I began teaching at Shepard Academy. I taught Social Studies to middle and high school students.
