In Physics especially tutoring, the approach that gives me best result so far is to directly engage the student in solving Physics problems. It is one thing to present the subject matter but it is a whole different thing to solve problems. Most students don't really understand the significance of the theory or law until they apply in solving physics problems especially those with relevance to real life situations. Since most of the theory were taught in school already, I kind of directly immerse the student to problem solving because that is where you will know whether the student understand the subject matter or not. I have a BS in mechanical and materials Engr from the university of conneccticut. I have masters in science management, MBA and project management. I have experience a design engineer, Material failure analyst, project engineer, project manager and program manager. At the current time i am project/business manager for the lower pressure compression for aircraft engines. I have been tutoring since my sophomore year in college.
I enjoy teaching and helping children understand whatever topic they might be involved in. I typically try to understand that individual's learning style and try to incorporate or explain the topic from that perspective.
